Transportation Options

Metrorail:

• Thru Sept 6th, shuttle buses replace trains between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights due to summer construction. As a result, Grosvenor, Medical Center, and Bethesda stations are closed. Express shuttle bus service is available between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights. Info: wmata.com/summer2026
• Trains are operating every 6 minutes between Shady Grove and North Bethesda in both directions. Between Friendship Heights and Dupont, trains are operating every 10-12 minutes in both directions, and every 6 minutes in both directions from Dupont to Glenmont. Customers will continue to experience delays in both directions due to water intrusion affecting signals outside Van Ness.
• Customers will experience delays to Greenbelt due to a train with a mechanical problem at Southern Avenue.

ART:

• ART Route 84 Alert - Detour
  Buses on Route 84 will be on detour due to construction. Detour ends January 4 at approximately 12:00 AM. Toward DOUGLAS PARK, stop 24TH RD S WB @ S GLEBE RD FS will not be served. Toward PENTAGON CITY, stop 24TH RD S EB @ S GLEBE RD NS will not be served.
• ART Route 87 Alert - Detour
  Buses on Route 87 will be on detour due to construction. Detour ends January 4 at approximately 12:00 AM. Toward SHIRLINGTON, stops from 24TH RD S WB @ S GLEBE RD FS through SHIRLINGTON RD WB @ S FOUR MILE RUN DR NS will not be served. Toward PENTAGON CITY, stops from SHIRLINGTON RD EB @ KEMPER RD FS through 24TH RD S EB @ S GLEBE RD NS will not be served.

Metrobus:
